College HistoryGenesis
Dreams and wishes are nothing more than desires. Desires become strong when they are supported by direction, dedication, determination, discipline and deadlines. Goals are dreams with a deadline and an action plan. With a long cherished deep desire to give quality education to the students of this economically backward rural area, an enthusiastic group of people of surrounding villages under the leadership of Late Ashwini Kumar Pati, a great social worker with his philanthropic zeal compiled with a single minded dedication, Late Aryya Kumar Banerjee (Hon’ble the then I.C.,B.U), Late Dr. Rama Ranjan Mukherjee (the-then Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, B.U), Sri Ramchandan, Sri P.C. Ingty, respected D. Ms., Bankura, with strenuous pains sowed the seed. First they started by doing what was necessary, then what was possible and suddenly the impossible. The College then had the only capital of the noble co-operation of the local people of surrounding villages and their benign donations. The college had been named after the site, Saldiha, where it is situated, to eternalize the magnanimous contribution of the local people. The tiny seed, now growing into a mighty tree, has been very fondly offering numberless education lovers its calm shade throughout years.
